A Christmas Present for Sasha

I've made my Sasha skier a fleece hat and she wants to share the pattern with you all. It is so easy with very little sewing and many ways to adjust the look. Unfortunately my computer skills have not improved since my last pattern offer so you have to email me for the pattern instructions. I'll gladly send them out to you and wish you all Happy Holidays.
One thought on the pattern is to make the strip wider and have a rollup brim where I opted to just leave a sewn hem. Also could be decorated with jingle bells or holly. I'm sure you will find many ways to add little alterations. It would be a quick and easy sewing project for mother-daughter or grandmother-granddaugher project.
Enjoy

A truly Golden Kitty

In the past few weeks we've had a very sick cat and therefore very large vet bills for her. The good news is that she is on the mend. We laugh about her being our 'golden' kitty for her color and the high cost of her vet bills.
So I need to sell some of my Sashas to help her out a bit. I'll post a photo of the 'golden girl' and then two Sashas that I've photographed today for sale.
If you are looking for a particular Sasha year or hair color please let me know and I might be able to part with that certain one you are looking for.
The blonde Trendon of the late 80.s came unplayed with in the jumper outfit shown instead of a gingham dress. No marks, no odors, nonsmoking home, obviously we have cats but they don't play around the dolls. She has super abundant almost silver blonde hair. She'd be a gorgeous doll for a young child who loves to comb and style hair. Think Christmas gift.... even though I protest that in the stores I can't believe I just wrote that. I can take nude photos, but no marks, scatches, or neck caving. Hair is soft and silky. Any questions please email. $130 postage and insurance included for the USA. Out of country sales would have to pay their own insured postage.
My other Sasha offered is a Hiker Gregor. One of 400 made of these series. In original box with all original accessories, backpack, and sleeping bag. Never played with. Bought from a doll store in Chicago. Only honey blonde boy produced by Trendon. Again no marks, no caving , no odors, he just needs a new home and more attention than he's getting in my Sasha clan. He's $550 and buyer pays insured postage. International sales on both dolls would have to be by insured mail.
Let me know if there is a Sasha in your dreams you'd like to purchase and maybe I can help your dream come true.

Sasha visits Dorothy's namesake memorial

I've had this project to do on my list for several years and finally yesterday took tiime to do it. The namesake for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz was an infant niece of Frank Baum's who died in infancy in Bloomington, Illinois, less than twenty miles from where I live. So we dressed little Velvet in her Dorothy costume and rounded up Toto and set out. After discovering the cemetery was huge and a maze of roadways we stopped at the caretaker's office and sought help. The Memorial Garden and bench were both right next to the entrance and office but alas little Dorothy's grave was far beyond that area.
We brought a rose for Dorothy and took some photos for those of you too far away to visit her. We left the rose in honor of all the enjoyment of Wizard of Oz we've had all through my childhood.
Here is the online website that prompted me to follow through on my visit.

It tells you the story of finding Dorothy by one persistent fan and their dedication to her memory.

SASHA CORA WAIF

There is a lot of chatter on one of the Sasha online groups about Cora and Caleb. Therefore my dear Cora waif has insisted on making a debut on my blog here. She came nude from a Montana thriftstore off Ebay and at a steal of a price along with her brother, Caleb who was completely dressed and boxed if I remember correctly.
So I've post a photo of her in her possibly original outfit bought from one of the Sasha group members complete with ultra short knit dress and red sandals.

Posting my Sasha collettion photos

I'm starting to sort out my Sasha collection. The question was 'who to start with?' Since our forecasted sunny day didn't materialize I decided to post my early Gotz waif. Her known history is a sad one but with a nice ending. She was bought at a garage sale 10 or so years ago, a childhood leftover and then retrieved after that long from the bottom of a toy box in disaray with hair all askew and various marks, and floppy limbs to land on ebay as a bargain Buy It Now. So although she has no child to love her now she is restored and stands tall among my other Sashas. She's wearing an original Gotz raincape, new era Gotz shoes and reproduction dungarees and shirt by me. I know her view of life is better than from a bottom of a toxbox now. View her photo on the right near the bottom of the blog.
She is Sasha Amei after the Swiss knitter of lovely Sasha Festival charity donations. Later you will see some of Amei's knitting on my Baby Sashas.

Sasha Festival viewed second hand

Wonderful photos of the Sasha festival held in San Francisco on the SashaMart photo section and on Fran's blog. Almost but not quite like being there in person. I really appreciate seeing all the photos of the Sashas and people. It really is a chore to comment on all the photos and to set them up on line so again thank you to all.
If you aren't familiar with Sashamart group on yahoo you should really join in as well as the SashaL group on yahoo. There you find links to Fran's blog and others who have festival photos to share.Heidi and Sheila look great. You are an inspiration to chubby me!

Summer Reading

Sasha has become infatuated with fairy story books these hot and humid summer days. Here is a dress inspired by her passion for fairies in a darling cotton print. Accented with piping and unique tulip sleeve styling.

Free baseball cap pattern for Sasha/Gregor

To launch my new blog I'm offering a pdf file for a baseball cap for Sasha or Gregor. It would be cute in pink polka dots for Sasha or a cap with a favorite baseball logo on it for either Sasha or Gregor. My first idea was to offer it on site here but searching on how to post a pdf file is beyond my computer skills at the moment. If you would email me at swessel@mchsi.com I will send you the one page PDF file for it.
Happy Fourth of July to all.

Summer Fashions for sale

I've had a long hiatus from Sasha sewing and have been inspired to get back into sewing for her and her family. My dresses are now featured on the home page of Sasha Mart and that has given me a boost to offer my blog and its listings to the Sasha Mom's out there.
Here are some fashions for your doll's summer fun.
Please email for purchases. Swessel@mchsi.com
Comments are welcomed.

SASHA'S GARDEN BLOG

After delaying creating a new website format and discovering how much I need to learn about the jargon, I've resorted to a blog devoted to Sasha. I sew clothes for her, Gregor, and Baby Sasha as well as the Toddlers.
Posted on here will be current clothes available for sale. All handmade and made especially for Sasha. I have hundreds of patterns and a huge fabric stash to draw from.
Also I'll share photos of my own Sasha collection. I hope you visit often and enjoy the blog.
